Use and Disclosure of Personal Information:

In addition to the purposes outlined in the chart above, we may use and disclose your Personal Information as necessary to meet regulatory and legal obligations, respond to law enforcement requests, or comply with any applicable law, court order, or governmental regulations. We may also use the Personal Information we collect to maintain internal administrative records, protect our own or others' rights and interests, resolve disputes, enforce policies, or prevent harm.

We may share any Personal Information we collect with our professional advisors—such as accountants, auditors, consultants, and lawyers—when needed for them to provide services or advice to us. Additionally, in the event of a sale, merger, or other acquisition of all or part of our business or assets, your Personal Information may be transferred as part of that process or during related negotiations.

Tracking Technologies and Cookies:

To improve your experience with our Services, we collect information through various technologies. When you access or use the Services or interact with us or our service providers, we collect data on your usage and behavior. Below, we outline the technologies we use to gather this information.

When you visit the Services, we log your Internet Protocol (IP) address. While an IP address can reveal the internet portal used to access the web, such as your Internet Service Provider (ISP), company, or institution, it does not directly identify you. However, we may associate the IP address used to access the Services with the Personal Information you provide. We may also collect a unique identifier for the device (e.g., computer, mobile device) you use to access the Services ("Device Identifier"). This identifier is linked to information about your visit, such as pages viewed, and may be connected with your Personal Information.

We also use other tracking tools, including data enrichment services and advertising partners, to collect information about your interaction with our Services.

Cookies and Tracking:

Cookies are small files transferred to your device through your web browser that allow websites to recognize and remember your device and certain preferences. For more details on cookies, you can visit www.allaboutcookies.org. Our Services use cookies for various purposes:

  1. To enable the Services to function.
  2. To enhance user experience by personalizing content and saving preferences (e.g., language, region).
  3. For analytics, to understand how the Services are used.
  4. To display relevant advertisements, such as remembering your visit after you leave our Services.

In some cases, cookies track information about the pages you visit and share it with our advertising partners, including AppNexus, Google, Nanigans, Facebook, and Twitter.

Many advertisers and service providers involved in interest-based advertising offer tools to opt-out of such ads. For example, you can exercise your choices with the Digital Advertising Alliance's (DAA) Self-Regulatory Program by visiting https://youradchoices.com/ or http://www.aboutads.info/appchoices. Some of these companies are also part of the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI). For more details on how to opt out of ads from NAI members, visit http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/. Please note that opting out of targeted advertising does not stop all ads from being displayed; you may still see non-targeted ads.

Our Services use analytics tools, including Google Analytics, to support and improve their performance by analyzing how you interact with the site, including your navigation, clicks, and overall traffic patterns. To opt out of Google Analytics cookies, visit Google Analytics Opt-Out or download the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Managing Cookie Preferences:

You can adjust your browser settings to prevent the acceptance of new cookies, receive notifications for new cookies, or block cookies altogether. For guidance on how to manage cookies in your browser, visit www.allaboutcookies.org. Please be aware that rejecting cookies may result in the loss of preferences you’ve set, and some features of the Services may not function properly.

Web Beacons
Our Services and communications may contain small graphic images or web programming code known as web beacons (also referred to as “pixel tags,” “web bugs,” or “clear GIFs”). These are tiny images with a unique identifier, used to track the online behavior of users. Unlike cookies, which are saved on a user’s computer, web beacons are embedded invisibly on web pages and are about the size of a period at the end of a sentence. They help us improve the content on our Services by providing insights on what content is effective, how users navigate the site, how many users visit the site, and how many of our emails are opened.

Session Monitoring
Certain technologies on our site allow us and our service providers to track and analyze how visitors use our Services. This helps us understand user behavior and enhance the experience. When you interact with our Services online, we may collect information about your browsing activities, including through our service providers.

Your 'Do Not Track' Browser Setting
We do not honor the “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting in browsers. DNT is a setting that lets websites know you don’t want them to collect your personal information. We track your online activities over time and across third-party websites and services. For example, we use web beacons to understand which links or advertisers led you to our site. We also use third-party providers to display ads to you on other websites based on your behavior on our Services.

Social Networking Sites
If you sign in to our Services via a social network like Facebook, we may collect your Facebook authentication token and account ID to allow you to access your account on our platform.

INFORMATION FROM OR ABOUT OTHER PARTIES
a. Information You Provide About an External Party

  • Referrals: If you use our referral service to tell a friend about our Services, we may collect their name and email address to send them an invitation. We store this information solely for the purpose of sending the referral email and tracking the success of the referral program. We do not use this information for marketing unless we get consent from the referred person or explicitly state otherwise. Please note that your email address may be included in the referral message sent to your friend.
  • Ratings: Our Services may display profiles of service professionals, which can include their name, ratings, and reviews from clients. These profiles may be visible to all users of our Services and on the websites of our booking partners. If you leave a review or rating for a service professional, we may share your first name, the initial of your last name, and your neighborhood name along with your feedback on their profile and with booking partners. Service professionals may also use your reviews and personal information in their marketing.

b. Information External Parties Provide About You
We may enhance the information we gather about you by combining it with records from third parties. This helps us improve our Services, tailor content, and offer relevant information to you.

c. Information You Provide to Third Parties / Third-Party Sites
Our Services may include links to third-party websites ("Third-Party Sites") and plugins (such as Twitter buttons). We do not control these Third-Party Sites, and their information collection practices are governed by their privacy policies. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit if you choose to provide personal information or interact with plugins.
Some Third-Party Sites may link to our Services or share information with us. For example, if you book a service through one of our partners, they may share your booking details, including your name, phone number, email address, and address with us.

COMMUNICATIONS
a. Message Interception
If you call or text (SMS) a service professional or requester via the phone number provided by Serden, we use Twilio, our service provider, to mask your number. During this process, both Serden and Twilio store call data, including the date, time, phone numbers, and message content.
If you message a service professional or requester through the App, we use Sendbird to manage the communications. Serden and Sendbird also store the message data, including the time, date, and content of your messages.

b. SMS Text Messaging Disclosure
By using our Services, you consent to receive communications from us, including text messages, phone calls, and push notifications to the phone number you provided. Standard carrier messaging rates may apply. You understand and agree that these communications could include operational updates, promotional offers, and industry news sent by Serden, its affiliates, or Users/Professionals, including automated messages.
You are not required to agree to receive promotional messages as a condition of using the Services. If your contact number changes, you agree to promptly notify us. You represent that you have the consent of anyone authorized on your account to receive communications as described. These consents will remain in effect even if you cancel your account. You can opt out of receiving marketing or promotional texts at any time. To stop receiving all text messages (including transactional ones), you can reply "STOP" to any text message from us, but please note this may affect your use of the Services.
We do not share your mobile information with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes, except for the data related to message origin consent, which will not be shared with third parties.

INFORMATION RETENTION
We retain the personal information described above for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy or as required by law. Generally, we keep the information for as long as one of the following conditions applies:

  • Your personal information is needed to manage our operations, maintain your relationship with us, or meet another purpose for which we collected the data;
  • Your personal information is necessary to fulfill a disclosed purpose that aligns with the context in which it was originally collected;
  • The information is required to protect or defend our rights or property, as dictated by applicable laws.

If personal information is collected and used for multiple purposes, we will retain it until the purpose with the longest retention period expires.

  • Identifiers
  • Personal Records
  • Internet or electronic network activity
  • Geolocation Data (inferred from your IP address)
  • Inferences

These categories exclude data from text messaging originators' opt-in and consent, which we do not share with third parties for marketing purposes.
The third parties with whom we may share or sell personal information include advertisers and some analytics providers. We share this data to deliver targeted ads, perform marketing, advertising, analytics, or similar activities. We do not knowingly share or sell personal information of individuals under 16 years of age. If you wish to opt out, see the instructions below.
